XERO Small Business Index shows SME jobs suffer
Data released today by Xero produced as part of its small business index shows September was the worst month of 2021 for SMEs, with the index dropping 14 points below average. The index fell to 86 points in September from, recording a decline for the third consecutive month. The decline in the index was driven by continued poor SME jobs growth. Jobs growth fell by 0.9 per cent in September; this is the first time growth has dipped into negative territory this year.

Technology driven zero-carbon approach
The Federal Government has committed to a zero-carbon Australia by 2050, ahead of the United Nations 26th Conference of the Parties (COP26) held in Glasgow. Prime minister Scott Morrison has said that emissions reduction will be driven “through technology, not taxes.” Technology such as Australian/ US agritech startup, Bio Loam. Cyberattacks and Ransom demands may hit a record high in 2022: Check Point Report
Check Point Software Technologies, a cybersecurity solutions provider has issued its cybersecurity predictions for 2022, predicting that cyber-attacks will break new records for ransom demands next year. Cyberattacks on supply chains will also grow more prevalent in the coming year, according to the report.
